Bend is a generic term for any offset or change of direction in the pipe fittings. Bends are generally manufactured as per the needs of the piping applications. These do not have sharp corners. Bending methods have constraint as to how much material thinning can be allowed to safely deal with the pressure of the fluid to be contained.
